Tama Cochran is a retired, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who served mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence clients for over thirty years. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma and has worked as a therapist and case manager in various venues. Before entering into her Private Practice, Tama held positions of Director in Mental Health and substance abuse programs in Oklahoma City including Deaconess Mental health, Integris Baptist Mental Health, Midwest City Mental Health as well as running day treatment programs. In private practice, she has worked closely with the Community Learning Council, an Oklahoma nonprofit in facilitating Batterer’s Group, Support Groups for victims and therapeutic group for children of victims. In addition, she has performed evaluations and assessments for court as well as clinical opinions for the children and adolescents involved in domestic violence cases. Though she has retired from private practice, Tama continues to provide consultation for other therapists and presents workshops on Teen Dating Violence, Experiential Therapy, Stress Management and Domestic Violence treatment and best practices in the mental health field.
