Gail Stricklin, a graduate of the University of Tulsa, College of Law and Newcomb College of Tulane University, has been volunteering her legal expertise for over 35 years in the area of family violence, including legal representation of adult and children victims; running legislation; serving over a decade on the statewide Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board and Child Death Review Board as the Oklahoma Bar Association representative; and participating in educational continuing legal education seminars for the Office of the Attorney General, Annual DV/SA Partnership Conference, Oklahoma Bar Association, Latino Agency, DHS-CSS, Legal Aid Services Corporation among other organizations. She is a 2009 recipient of the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award as well as the OBA Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service in 2001 and 2012. Her efforts have also been recognized by Oklahoma County CASA, Oklahoma County Bar-Howard K. Berry Sr. Award, Oklahoma Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. She currently serves on the Domestic Violence PARB in Oklahoma County Juvenile Court, Lawyers Against Domestic Violence in Oklahoma County and the Pro Se Waiver Docket project. Previously, Gail was employed as an oil and gas trial attorney for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; Federal Deposit Insurance Commission as Receiver for Penn Square Bank; Director and Administrative Law Judge (Public Utilities) for the Office of Administrative Proceedings, Oklahoma Corporation Commission as well as practicing law in the private sector. She also served on private boards of non-profit corporations including the YWCA of Oklahoma City where she spent 20 years providing legal advice to residents of the DV shelter. She currently spends her semi-retirement practicing law in the oil and gas area as well as participating in volunteer interests.
