Moving from Cultural Competence to Intersectional Practices

Moving from Cultural Competence to Intersectional Practices, Room: Oklahoma J

Wednesday - September 12, 2018: 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.

The concepts of intersectionality and intersectional feminism are being increasingly explored and discussed in the field of victim’s services. This workshop will take a closer look at the framework of intersectionality and its relevance to work with victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Participants will also consider their own (intersecting) identities and will identify strategies for intersectional practice at the personal, organizational, and systems level.
